Seasons Caloundra residents have discovered their own unique way to spread laughter and joy to their local Golden Beach community, on their regular scooter ride to the beach.
Decorated in brightly coloured balloons and streamers (pictured below), several residents have been causing quite a bit of excitement as they ride their scooters down to the Caloundra beachfront in a scooter brigade.
“We always get a lot of attention from the locals on our scooter rides. Cars tooting their horns, people waving at us and children coming up and making lovely comments,” says Vicky, Seasons Caloundra’s Lifestyle Coordinator.
“It just started out as a way for the residents to see each other better. But, our local community has really responded in such a positive way. People love it!”
At the end of their ride, the residents enjoy a drink and nibble together by the seaside.
Reg, a keen member of the scooter group, says, “It is a great way to spend an afternoon. We have a drink and some food at the beach too.”
“We also have some residents here who aren’t very experienced at riding their scooters. Our ‘scoot to the beach’ provides them the opportunity to practice their skills in a friendly, supportive group environment. This is also great to do before they venture out on their own. It has been delightful and helpful at the same time!”
