ROLE OVERVIEW

About the Role

A Seasons Chef delivers quality menus to clients within our community who have a diverse range of needs, as well as efficiently executing all catered events and effectively leading a team of kitchen staff.

Core Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor all menu and food production to ensure presentation, quality product and service standards are upheld.
  • Develop and evaluate food and labour costs on a daily basis.
  • Prepare menus as required, in line with company expectations.
  • Manage all aspects of food service and oversee food production.
  • Prepare, cook and serve food according to dietary, nutritional and cultural needs.
  • Maintain and monitor the company Food Safety Program.
  • Train staff as may be required, in the correct use of kitchen equipment, standards and procedures to ensure safe food handling.
  • Ordering and requisition of food supplies regarding menus in line with company purchasing policies.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant food and catering preparation regulations.
  • Assist with cleaning/kitchen housekeeping duties as may be required.

  • Maintain a positive and motivated work ethic in the kitchen at all times.
  • Understanding of the unique needs and risks involved in catering for people with low immunity condition.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Community Care Common Standards and Residents Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Efficient computer skills.
  • Interest in ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Empathy for and a desire to work with the aged.
  • Flexibility with hours when workload demands.
