About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Manager Finance this role works closely with members of the finance team and our communities to implement and provide support on aged care financial management and accounting, helping Seasons to deliver strategic goals and commercial benefits.
Core Responsibilities
- Working closely with Executive Manager Finance and Finance Systems Accountant you will assist in completing month end procedures and reporting.
- Work in conjunction with Executive Manager Finance and Finance Systems Accountant to complete annual budgets/forecasts.
- In partnership with Community and Care Managers you will provide high quality monthly reporting and analysis to improve decision making and performance.
- Manage and support the residential age care financial admission and income process.
- Support Home Care Package and Residential Aged Care financial processes, including monthly, Quarterly and Annual compliance reporting.
- Oversee brokerage compliance.
- Find efficiencies and savings in current services used, service providers and contractors.
- Provide financial input to proposed business cases and develop financial models when required.
- Assist in undertaking analytical reviews and Ad hoc reporting.
- Complete financial accounting responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Train and develop team members and staff in best process and practice, along with producing new ideas to further improve processes.
- Monitoring and maintaining compliance with internal controls in-line with statutory requirements.
- Actively participate in all required internal and external audits.
- Provide support for all financial business systems.
Top Skills
- Working knowledge of industry specific software such as TechOne and AlayaCare (desirable).
- Advanced knowledge of the Aged Care industry (desirable).
- Exceptional computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong team player with collaborative attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and external parties.
- Self-motivated to work independently and use initiative where required.
- Interest in ongoing professional development and career progression within a growing company.
- Working knowledge of aged care legislative environment and reforms (desirable).
Requirements
- Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) with degree qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar role and use of relevant software (aged care and/or retirement village sectors desirable).
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Flexibility with hours when workload demands.
