Accountant (Aged Care & Retirement Living)

ROLE OVERVIEW

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Manager Finance, the Accountant role is integral to delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and supporting financial operations across a growing aged care and retirement living organisation. You will contribute to optimising financial performance through insightful analysis, effective reporting, and continuous process improvement.

Working closely with the Finance team and operational leaders, you will manage day-to-day accounting activities while also having the opportunity to oversee and support team members, building your leadership capability. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys applying strong accounting foundations in a dynamic, operational environment and is passionate about growing their leadership experience within a purpose-driven sector.

This is a full-time opportunity, based at Seasons Support Office in Brendale.

You will: 

  • Support month-end financial processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting with variance analysis
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial data across multiple entities and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with audits and statutory reporting, including aged care–specific compliance obligations
  • Support aged care and home care financial processes, including admissions, funding, and reporting requirements
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to operational leaders, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and cost improvement initiatives
  • Support financial systems and drive process improvements, including system enhancements and stakeholder training

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience in aged care, home care, retirement living or a similar regulated industry (desirable).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong overall systems capability.
  • Experience with TechnologyOne and/or AlayaCare (desirable).
  • CPA/CA qualified or working towards (preferred, not essential).
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights.
  • Current national police check.
