Seasons is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and capable Cook on part-time basis, to run the kitchen at our Mango Hill community. Flexibility to work across all 7 days of the week is required.
About the Role
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver menus planned by the Chef in advance, with cost controls in place.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring all food production to ensure presentation, quality product and service standards are upheld.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food according to dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs.
- Support Chef to maintain, monitor and record all Food Safety Program requirements.
- Train staff as required in the correct use of kitchen equipment, standards and procedures to ensure safe food handling.
- Efficiently order food and equipment supplies.
- Ensure compliance with the relevant food and catering preparation regulations.
- Assist with cleaning/kitchen housekeeping duties as may be required.
- Follow and implement diet and care plan directives.
Top Skills
- Proven experience with volume cooking (hotels, healthcare etc.) or similar environments.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Good computer and technology skills (laptops, smartphones, tablets etc.).
- Maintain a positive and motivated work ethic in the kitchen.
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of residents’ and their families.
Job requirements:
- Availability to work weekends.
- Tertiary qualification in hospitality and/or equivalent relevant experience in a role.
- Food handler certificate.
- 2yrs+ experience in commercial kitchen, preferably within an aged care environment.
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Current Police check.
