For a warming dessert, you can’t beat these golden syrup dumplings. Better yet, they’re super easy to make with just a few simple ingredients.
While the cold is biting outside, whipping up a batch of these golden syrup dumplings will soon have you thankful for winter nights and have you reminiscing about enjoying these as a kid.
Ingredients
Dumpling ingredients
1 cup self-raising flour
An egg
1 dessertspoon butter
Splash of milk
Pinch of Salt
Syrup sauce ingredients
1 cup water
½ cup sugar
1 dessertspoon butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
Method
- Rub the butter into the flour and salt, then add the beaten egg.
- Add the milk for a semi-runny dough and a light fluffy consistency. Set this aside.
- Place the syrup ingredients into a large saucepan. Heat until boiling.
- Add tablespoons of dough mixture into syrup sauce.
- Cover and cook the dumplings for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve while hot!
