About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your skills to support the wellbeing of elderly residents. Seasons Living Sinnamon Park is looking for an experienced Cook to join our passionate team in a well-equipped kitchen. The Cook will deliver efficient execution of all catered events under the guidance of the Chef, whilst providing effective leadership of the kitchen staff.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver menus planned by the Chef in advance, with cost controls in place.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring all food production to ensure presentation, quality product and service standards are upheld.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food according to dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs.
- Support Chef to maintain, monitor and record all Food Safety Program requirements.
- Train staff as required in the correct use of kitchen equipment, standards and procedures to ensure safe food handling.
- Efficiently order food and equipment supplies.
- Ensure compliance with the relevant food and catering preparation regulations.
- Assist with cleaning/kitchen housekeeping duties as may be required.
- Follow and implement diet and care plan directives.
Top Skills
- Proven experience with volume cooking (hotels, healthcare etc.) or similar environments.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Good computer and technology skills (laptops, smartphones, tablets etc.).
- Maintain a positive and motivated work ethic in the kitchen.
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of residents’ and their families.
Flexibility with hours when workload demands.
Requirements
- Current Police check
- Current First aid and CPR certificate
- Qualifications as Food Safety Supervisor
- Qualifications from Culinary School
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably within an aged care environment
- Covid-19 vaccine evidence (mandatory)
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
