About the Role
Seasons Mango Hill is seeking enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Registered Nurses to provide high quality care to residents in our Care Suites on a casual basis. Seasons provides care and services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, and as such we have a variety of shifts available including mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends.
Core Responsibilities
- Provision of care to residents with complex clinical needs including but not limited to; wound management, diabetic management, behavioural management, medication management, nutrition and hydration management, pressure care management and incontinence management.
- Ensure resident care plans, assessments and other documentation is accurately updated and maintained to a high standard in accordance with their individual clinical needs and preferences, in line with Seasons policies and procedures.
- Support residents with end of life and palliative care including the provision of clinical services where required.
- Ensure medications are administered, documented, stored, and disposed of in accordance with regulations and organisational policies and procedures.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge and skills in relation to pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and health management.
- Actively participate in quality improvement activities to improve individual outcomes for residents.
- Provide guidance and support to ENs and PCWs to ensure they are practicing within their scope of practice and within organisational policy in a manner that is empowering, encouraging, and driven by best practice clinical principals and procedures.
- Participate in professional development and education opportunities to maintain professional currency and further develop clinical skills and understanding.
- Actively participate in developing cultural competence and demonstrate an understanding of individuals from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds.
Top Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in aged care, preferably in a residential setting (desirable).
- Strong commitment to promote choice and independence to residents and practice in a manner in keeping with the principles of person-centred care.
- A strong commitment to excellence and continuous quality improvement.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the DVA Community Nursing Program, HCP, Aged Care Standards and Client Rights and Responsibilities.
- Outstanding clinical skills and ability to practice autonomously but within the scope.
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Packages with a high level of proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and take actions to meet resident’s needs and expectations.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and to stay informed of progress.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Well-developed interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Well-developed written, verbal communication and mathematical skills with the ability to manage and share information effectively.
Requirements
- Current First Aid Certificate and Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- National Police Check.
- Adhere to mandatory vaccination requirements (Public Health Directions).
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Must be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and Australia Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority (AHPRA) (Unencumbered).
