This easy, one bowl cake recipe uses ingredients you already have in your cupboard. It can be easily adapted to suit any occasion. It works well as cupcakes, a slab cake or can be decorated as your next birthday cake creation.
1 ½ cups self-raising flour
1 cup of sugar
115 grams soft butter
¼ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Put all ingredients in a bowl and beat using an electric mixer for six minutes.
- Pour cake into a cake tin and cook until browned on top or just cooked through.
Change up the flavour of your cake with these extra ingredients.
Just add 1 tablespoon of coconut.
Add 1 tablespoon of coffee essence or 1 shot of coffee to the mix.
Add 2 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon golden syrup and a pinch of bicarb soda.
Mix 3 teaspoon cocoa to a little hot water and add to the mix.
